Christmas in Paradise (Natale in Paradiso)
“White Christmas” is the popular song composed by Irving Berlin in 1942. The version performed by Bing Crosby for the musical film “White Christmas” in 1954 is the most famous and one of my favorite songs of all time.
Few weeks ago I was listening to it and for a mysterious reason made me think of another my favorite music, the “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” film soundtrack, by Ennio Morricone, which this year passed away, as you all know.
So I came up with this idea of a musical experiment, a little tribute, and ended up with a Christmas arrangement which includes “White Christmas” and a couple of themes from Ennio Morricone’s soundtrack.
Thinking of what we all went through this year, I imagined what a different Christmas would be for all kids around the world and opted for an arrangement that would sound like a lullaby, with bells and carillon type of atmosphere.
