Notes and Awards
Ennio Morricone and John Williams are definitely the most important alive film music composers.
In 2016 they face each other contending the prestigeous Academy Award.
John Williams has been nominated many many times, winning 5 times. Ennio Morricone, nominated 6 times, got only the lifetime achievement award, in 2007; he seems to have more chances this year with the score of Tarantino’s movie, The Hateful Height. In my humble opinion, Maestro Morricone should have won earlier, at least with Mission.
While we wait for the great event, I would like to share two arrangements I realized just for fun and sperimenting, as a little tribute to these two giants of the cinema.
In the two videos below you can find themes from “Harry Potter” and “La Califfa”.
