Messages and phone calls scams

I have never contacted in any way (text or phone call) this number, but today I received this text saying:

“Sorry, I can’t talk right now.”

“I am not in the country. Can you please text. Thanks”

Of course they did not trick me so easily, and I have just added this number to the (already long) list of blocked contacts.

Another trick they try to use, is to make phone calls and immediately hung up, so that you do not have enough time to answer: if you are curious to know who it is, you are tempted to call them back and this will make you spend a fortune.

An example of numbers you should completely ignore and eventually block, would be 2489999…, where the last digits may vary.

This is a spam trend that is becoming very popular, especially because almost everyone now days got a mobile device and unfortunately we are not always aware and ready to distinguish a legitimate call/text than a scam.

I am not a reporter but I thought this information may help someone out there.
