Maestro Ennio Morricone 90th birthday

Italiano

On November 10th, 2018, Maestro Ennio Morricone celebrates his 90th birthday. For this special birthday, I wanted to pay tribute to the Roman composer making a series of videos and revisiting, in my own way, some of the musical moments of his long and prolific career.

The first theme is “Per le antiche scale“, taken from the 1975 film of the same name, which tells the story of a psychiatrist and his studies on madness.
The chosen piece, with an “intimate” flavor, conveys a sense of serenity and melancholy at the same time.
In the original version, it is performed by piano and flute.
My modest version and revisitation is a piano solo performance.

Next is “Bianco Rosso e Verdone“, the Italian comedy from 1981, featuring Carlo Verdone, who was also the director as well.

Then a theme from the TV series, “La Piovra“, in my solo piano version: “Intimamente”.

The fourth video is about the main theme from a 1972 movie: “Le due stagioni della vita“.

In the fifth episode I’ll present you a short piano medley including themes from “Metello” (1970) and “Il Maestro e Margherita” (1972).

In the sixth video my meditative piano version of the famous theme from “Mosè“, a TV film broadcasted in Italy in 1974.

The other videos that follow are about the following movies:

L’estasi dell’oro

C’era una volta il West

La leggenda del pianista sull’oceano

C’era una volta in America“ (Poverty).
